It was a big weekend for Disney and Miley Cyrus as her Hannah Montana movie took in an estimated $34 million at the box office in what was Hollywood's biggest Easter weekend ever. The top 10 is listed below. (Media By Numbers)

Now, there are some enjoyable movies on that list. Are they movies of quality? Will that depends on what you are looking for in a movie. I really enjoyed "I Love You Man" but was it a film that really used cinema to tell me something that I didn't know about myself or shine a light on something in the world that I did not fully understand? No, it di not. But, what it did do was entertain me and I did not feel that my $9 dollars was wasted at the movies. Often, that is all people are looking for and there is no harm in that.

I agree Lance, I think the world might be a happier place if people realized that Movies are there to entertain, not to train and indoctrinate us. Well they should be anyway. I enjoy the movie experience, I like the sitting in the theater waiting for the previews to come up, I love the anticipation of a few hours of being delighted with a visual representation of a story that a lot of people worked hard on to bring to light. I don't like the ads, the cost of snacks, the jerk-wad who talks through-out the film, kicks my seat or just generally is annoying. I will continue to go to the movies, I'm addicted that way, I just wish that Hollywood would try to be more entertaining and less training.
